Minamo Privacy Policy
Scope: This Privacy Policy applies to the app “Minamo” and related services provided by Heartius Lab. For legal information about other Heartius Lab services, please see the Legal page.
Heartius Lab (“we,” “us,” or “our”) establishes this Privacy Policy (“Policy”) regarding the handling of user information in the application “Minamo” (“App”). Last updated: July 9, 2026
1. About this Policy
Minamo is an app that helps users understand and reflect on their daily condition based on sleep, meals, and daily records.
This Policy explains what information Minamo collects and how it is used. Because Minamo handles lifestyle-related information such as sleep and meal records, we aim to collect and use only the minimum information necessary and, where possible, process and store data on the user’s device.
2. Scope of this Policy
This Policy applies to the App and the functions and support services provided by us in connection with the App.
Information handled by external services linked from or used by the App, including the App Store, Apple Health, payment providers, and AI service providers, is governed by the policies of those respective service providers.
3. Information We Collect and Use
The App may collect and use the following information to provide its functions:
- Sleep records: sleep start and end times, sleep duration, sleep sessions, estimated sleep depth, and related information
- Device sensor information: motion information and sound level values (dB) used for sleep analysis
- HealthKit data: steps, active energy, walking speed, and other data only when permitted by the user
- Meal records: meal contents, estimated calories, input time, and edits made by the user
- Meal photos: images selected or taken by the user for AI-based meal estimation
- Wake check-in information: mood, selected themes, and inputs needed for daily reflection
- AI-generated results: text generated and displayed in the App, such as Morning Voice, weekly reports, and trend displays
- Subscription and account information: information required to provide premium features, verify purchase status, and prevent misuse
- Device and app usage information: information necessary for app operation, quality improvement, and troubleshooting
We use this information to provide App features, display condition information, support reflection on sleep, meals, and activity, generate AI-based features, provide premium features, improve quality, and respond to support inquiries.
4. Handling of HealthKit Data
The App provides features that connect with Apple Health (HealthKit). HealthKit data is read only when the user explicitly grants permission.
- Steps
- Active energy
- Walking speed
The App does not write data to HealthKit. Data obtained from HealthKit is used for condition displays and AI-generated features within the App.
5. Sleep Data and Microphone Use
The App uses the device’s motion sensors and microphone to estimate sleep state.
The microphone is used only to obtain surrounding sound level values (dB). The App does not record or store audio itself and does not analyze conversation content.
Most sleep records are stored on the user’s device. When AI-generated features are used, only the minimum necessary aggregated data is sent.
6. Meal Photos and Meal Records
When a user uses the meal photo analysis feature, the image is sent to an external AI service to estimate meal contents.
We do not store meal images on our server. The App stores only the information necessary for use in the App, such as meal items and estimated calories generated as analysis results.
Users can edit and delete meal records and analysis results themselves.
7. AI Features
Minamo provides AI-powered features such as Morning Voice, weekly reports, trend displays, and meal photo estimation.
Information necessary for AI generation may be sent to external AI services through our server. The information sent is limited to what is necessary to provide the function and may include aggregated data related to sleep, activity, meals, check-ins, and meal photos selected by the user.
AI-generated content is reference information based on the user’s records. It is not intended to provide medical diagnosis, treatment, prevention, or other professional advice.
8. Transmission to External Services
The App may use the following external services for feature provision, authentication, subscription management, AI generation, and quality improvement:
- Firebase: authentication, premium entitlement management, and service operation
- RevenueCat: App Store subscription status verification and premium feature provision
- Google Cloud Run: AI request processing and server-side processing
- External AI services: generation of Morning Voice, weekly reports, trend displays, and meal photo estimation
- Apple Health / HealthKit: reading health and activity data permitted by the user
Our server is designed not to log input text, meal photos, or AI-generated output text. However, data processing and retention by external services are governed by the privacy policies and terms of those service providers.
9. Data Storage Location and Retention
Many types of data used in the App, including sleep records, meal records, wake check-ins, Morning Voice, and weekly reports, are stored on the user’s device. Data stored on the device may be deleted when the App is deleted.
Authentication information, subscription status, purchase history, and other information necessary to provide premium features may be stored by external services such as Firebase, RevenueCat, and the App Store.
Our server logs may store only the minimum metadata necessary for service operation, such as request identifiers, processing results, model names, and anonymized user identifiers. These logs are managed according to the retention policies of each cloud service.
10. Third-Party Disclosure
We do not provide user information to third parties except when required by law, when the user has given consent, or when external services are used within the scope necessary to provide and operate the App.
Transmission to external services necessary for App operation is described in “8. Transmission to External Services.”
11. User Control and Deletion
Users can edit or delete certain data saved in the App, such as meal records, through App operations. Data stored on the device may also be deleted when the App is deleted.
Minamo plans to provide an account deletion feature. Account deletion will delete server-side data managed by us, including authentication information, premium entitlement information, and quota information related to meal photo estimation.
In the account deletion process, after server-side data deletion is completed, the App deletes local data, notifications, in-app session information, and related device-side data.
If the user has an active App Store subscription, account deletion does not automatically cancel the subscription. Cancellation must be completed separately through the App Store subscription management screen.
Purchase history, processing logs, and other information stored by external services are managed according to the policies of those service providers.
12. Children’s Use
The App is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from users under the age of 13. If a person under the age of 13 uses the App, they should do so with parental consent and supervision.
If we become aware that we have unintentionally collected personal information regarding a user under the age of 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete or otherwise address that information promptly.
13. Security
We take reasonable security measures to appropriately manage user information, including encryption of communications, access control, and log minimization.
Minamo is designed to process and store lifestyle records such as sleep, meals, and check-ins on the device whenever possible and to minimize information sent to servers.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy in response to changes in laws, App features, external services, or other circumstances.
If this Policy is changed, we will post the updated version on this page and, where necessary, notify users through the App or our website.
